Everyone Archives now offers an 🗣Oral History Preservation Kit🗣, available for rental using a Pay-What-You-Can model for Ottawa residents.
Oral history preservation is the collection and study of storytelling and culture using sound recordings (it is also more than that but lets keep it simple for now 👀).
Preserving oral history could mean recording:
✸ The stories of a grandparent
✸ Lullabies, family songs etc.
✸ Community history
✸ A conversation with your toddler
✸ Lots of other things...the world is your sonic oyster!
If you have a project that could benefit from using our kit, fill out the form below! Anything goes–we're excited to adapt this program to people's needs.
✸ A Zoom H4N Pro sound recorder
✸ Wired Sony headphones
✸ Batteries and a battery charger
✸ A wind screen
✸ A desktop tripod
✸ An SD Card and SD card reader
In addition to this technology, the kit comes with a resource document and virtual training/consultation with Everyone Archives volunteers.
Rental functions on a Pay-What-You-Can model. Suggested pricing is $20/week.
